This short class is to showcase some of my favorite perennials that we’re growing this fall at Peoria Gardens. Perennials are great for patio pots, hanging baskets, cut flowers, and beautifying the landscape! I’ll also give insight into my train-of-thought when ordering plants and planning the plant menu for the year.

When: Saturday, Sept. 20th @ 11:00am
Instructor: Shay Boga, Peoria Gardens – Long Cycle Value Stream Leader & Perennial Production Lead
Where: Shonnard’s Nursery Classroom, 6600 SW Philomath Blvd., Corvallis, OR 97333

Here to Answer Questions – Saturday 9/20 of Fall Planting Days

Not able to make the class? Come by between 11:30am and 2:00pm on Saturday, September 20th during our Fall Plantings Days weekend, and ask Shay your perennial plant questions!

You’ll find Shay setup in our Perennial Plant area with a display table of the favorite fall perennials.

Instructor Bio:

My name is Shay Boga and I’m the Perennial Production Manager at Peoria Gardens. My passion for horticulture and perennial plants started in 2018 when I did an internship at Peoria Gardens. You could say that my passion for plants bloomed later in life, but I’ve been obsessed with learning about perennials since starting to work at Peoria. I worked my way up from intern to Perennial Shipping Lead to Perennial Production Manager; the entirety of my career at Peoria has been in the perennial area.

In my free time, I love working in the garden with my cat and partner. We have a beautiful perennial cut flower garden that I like to make floral arrangements with to have fresh flowers around the house. My cat is a great assistant! When not in the garden or at work, I enjoy rock climbing, backpacking, going to ecstatic dance or moving my body to music, and going for ice cream after dinner and walking along the waterfront.
