We are looking forward to hosting our Mindful Movement Workshops at the Clemens Primary School Library,  open for the community. All ages welcome to these three separate workshop dates (1/29, 2/19 & 3/3). Join one workshop or join all with our Skills Trainer, Tracy Erwin, for an hour of relaxation and fun. There will be a light dinner provided.

Learn how to make and care for a terrarium with us. 

We will guide you through, and provide everything you need to make a terrarium to take home. Choices for plants and decorations can be personalized to your own style and preferences. We will also provide care instructions to keep your creation healthy and happy.

$45 class fee includes: a glass vessel, materials, plants, decorations, and instruction.

Historic tour of Philomath College will highlight the stories of the students and teachers who lived and worked here, shaping the future of the town of Philomath. Erected in 1867, building is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The campus once included a gymnasium and tennis court! Learn about the intriguing history of church of the United Brethren in Christ and their legacy in the modern town of Philomath, Oregon.

Tours are led by a trained docent from Benton County Historical Society.

Dress for the weather; a portion of the tour occurs outside.

Accommodations can be made with advance notice! Please email education@bentoncountymuseums.org for accommodations relating to a disability.

Cost: $10 per person. Registration required.

Lessons by Robbie Halverson, and DJ services by Jamie Lee Dancing. All proceeds from the event support Maxtivity Creative Space for Community Arts.

Celebrate the vernal equinox

Spring equinox signifies the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, marking the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator, creating nearly equal day and night lengths globally. It signifies renewal, warmer weather, and longer days!

We will be celebrating my creating spring bouquets boasting all of the glorious early blooms from Oregon: tulips, anemones, ranunculus, lilies and lush filler & foliage like pieris, ferns, eucalyptus, viburnum and more.

The class will be held at the cozy floral design studio and florist in Philomath. Enjoy a brief overview of floral design by Pami, owner of County Line Flowers. Followed by a hands-on floral design workshop where you can customize and take home your creation. All supplies included. Light snacks included.

This class goes over the basics of starting an organic vegetable garden from the soil up, and caring for it over the entire year. Learn water wise tactics that will save your roots and your utility bill in summer, healthy fertilization schedules that will help keep pests at bay, and what to do if you spot pests.

Winter doesn't mean a stop to gardening, we will also cover planting cover crops to reduce leaching and keep your garden looking great year round!
